Objective: To influence teenagers between the ages of 12 and 15, a stage when they are starting to think about what they want to be when they grow up, to emphasise the importance of parity in STEM careers, to show them female references in this field and to encourage them to discover for themselves their prejudices and self-limitations. The challenge was to find a format that suited their age and interests, and the solution was STEM ROOM, an “escape room” type activity.
